Mumbai FinTech Hub Expands to Nagpur & Nashik

Maharashtra's fintech ecosystem continues to grow beyond Mumbai. Leading fintech accelerators are now setting up offices in Nagpur and Nashik, bringing mentorship and funding access to tier-2 cities.

Pune-based agritech startup FarmVriddhi has raised $5 million in a Series A round led by Mumbai-based Sequent Ventures, with participation from AgriGrowth Capital and a group of angel investors from the state's startup ecosystem.

The company, founded in 2022, uses satellite imagery and IoT soil sensors to provide farmers with real-time recommendations on irrigation, fertilizer use, and pest control. It currently works with over 12,000 farmers across Maharashtra's Vidarbha and Marathwada regions.

"This funding will let us expand into Nashik and Aurangabad districts, and deepen our partnerships with local agricultural cooperatives," said the company's co-founder in a statement.
